Brand Spotlight: Carlos by Carlos Santana

One of my favorite brands for the last several years has been Carlos by Carlos Santana. I’ve had the opportunity to see him in concert twice, and it was not only awesome, it really made me understand how he could influence fashion. I know he’s a man and I know he’s a musician, but I am telling you, this line rocks! His music is hip and soulful and exciting. He is innovative and colorful. So…think about it, the shoes reflect him and his music. Get it now? They are hip and exciting, soulful and innovative and even colorful! They are shoes that put you in the spotlight. The brand statement says “…they are shoes that make an outfit–not match it.”

The styling is in-your-face sexy and sultry. Very trend-right while somehow retaining that edgy Carlos vibe every time. The prints are truly works of art and the leathers are sumptuous.

One of the other reasons I love this line is the Milagro foundation. A portion of the proceeds from the sales go directly to this foundation, which makes grants to community-based organizations around the world working with children in the arts, education and health areas. The foundation was actually founded by the Santanas! And, by the way, milagro means miracle in Spanish.

I recently had the chance to interview Rick Gelber, the VP for the line. And I was really excited to get an early peek at the fall 2009 line. So, since we are BFFs, I am sharing it with you. The shoes look really exciting…and I have already picked out the styles that I must have for fall.

This is just one style that will soon be in my closet: the Bota. Hot!

They are all available on shoes.com in the near future, so check out the entire line and catch the Carlos vibe. You’ll definitely stand out in these works of art!
